Biography
Jill is interested in ideas of inclusion and detail, focusing on what she finds important in an image and leaving out or cropping what isn’t. Her work is often considering moments in time, perhaps shown in a snapshot and then thinking about contrasting memories of that moment. How true are the memories? Or are they fabricated from simply looking at the image?
Living and working in London, Jill has exhibited widely, including with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, in museums such as The People’s Museum in Manchester, Rugby Museum and The V&A, as well as in many smaller galleries. Jill was the Rootstein Hopkins student of 2007, which supported her in gaining an MA in Drawing at Wimbledon College of Art (UAL).
