Sarah Butler SGFA

Biography

Sarah was always destined to be an Artist. From an early age, she spent all of her free time drawing, painting and making things. She attended Taunton School, where she won every annual school Art prize from the age of 12, and was awarded a 13+ Art scholarship followed by an A Level Art scholarship.

Sarah attended Falmouth University, gaining a Foundation diploma in Art and Design, followed by a BA (Hons) in Drawing, graduating in 2015.

As a freelance Artist, Sarah’s work has featured in several solo and collaborative exhibitions in various locations such as Cirencester, Honiton, Wells, Tresco and London. In 2018, she received the Under 30’s Award at SGFA’s DRAW18 Exhibition.

Having always had a keen eye for detail, much of Sarah’s artwork is highly intricate. She is always keen to explore new avenues and push boundaries, but her work centres mainly on detailed illustrative ink drawings, and more expressive mixed media landscapes, inspired by the coast and countryside of the Southwest of England.
