Oliver Lovley holds a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Visual Communication.

In his work he concentrates on contrasting textures to communicate the different kinds of materials in his images. This approach applies to both watercolour on paper and acrylic on canvas. A strong emphasis is placed on observation of reference material, and all his pictures begin with a framework drawing from which he hangs shapes and textures.

Oliver lives and works in Nottinghamshire. He has exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery BP Portrait Award and the Mall Galleries ING Discerning Eye, and regularly demonstrates his drawing and painting techniques at live events including Art in Action and Patchings Festival. Oliver also teaches and demonstrates at many art groups and societies.
