Jane Barton SGFA
Biography
Jane is a multidisciplinary artist in both traditional and experimental media (printmaking, drawing, painting, cardboard sculptures, animation, sound, video) and a freelance translator (French, German and Italian into English).
Her art translates themes ranging from suburbia to space and nature to nostalgia. She draws inspiration from the beauty of nature to the ugliness of politics (with humour!), looking for interference between the familiar and the unexpected, the flowers and the weeds. Her recent work has explored current affairs like homelessness, moving to other worlds, and nature in the city.
