Harriet Brigdale VPSGFA

Biography

I was born in Kampen, Holland and was educated at the Rudolf Steiner school in the Hague. I have been painting and drawing since I was a small girl.

I moved to England in 1967, attending the Chelsea School of Art and London College of Printing during the 1970s. This proved to be a good basis for working with the printmaker Peter Baer for five years.

I love painting the countryside of southeast England, and I paint in my studio in East Grinstead.

I have produced etchings, watercolours, oils and pastels that have been exhibited in galleries throughout the United Kingdom, Canada, Holland, Norway, Japan and Greece.

Combining these activities as an independent artist with teaching has been the central core and main force in my life.
