I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Moving Image design in 1991, which lead to Illustration commissions and a career in design for broadcasting. This was followed by a post as Lecturer in Graphic Design and Drawing in Further Education. I became a full time Artist in 2015 working extensively with soft pastels, covering a wide variety of subject matters; the fundamentals of colour and mark making being central to their execution. I am perhaps best known for my Still Life pieces. I exhibit my work regularly both nationally and internationally. Recent exhibitions have included The Pastel Society UK and The Society for Graphic Fine Arts, both in London, The Pastel Society of America (PSA), as well as solo shows in Northumberland. I have won awards with the PSA (2021) and Pastel Society UK (2020) as well as exhibiting with the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) in 2022. I am a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America.
