Felicity Flutter SGFA

Biography

Felicity has been painting in Watercolours for twenty five years years but still finds there are new things to learn, she likes to challenge herself to paint difficult subjects, water and skies in particular.

The quest to always learn, improve and move forward is at the forefront of what she does. Recently this has meant combining watercolour with drawing to incorporate more mark making and texture.

Living not far from the coast near Rye, she finds inspiration in the sea and all its many moods and changes of weather. There are so many variations to be found on the surfaces of water from a flat calm mirror like surface to wild foaming waves.

Felicity has exhibited in London at the Mall Galleries with the RI of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the ING Discerning Eye exhibition. She is a committee member for the annual Cranbrook Art Show in Kent.

Her art career started in 1973 with a Foundation course at St. Martins School of Art, followed by a degree course in Graphic Design at Kingston Polytechnic. For the next ten years she was based in London working in the Advertising Industry as a Typographer, Illustrator and later as Assistant Studio Manager in a large Sales Promotion company. She has been self employed since 1986.
