Cristina Celestini SGFA

Biography

Cristina’s work is inspired by the nature of memory, the passage of time, and trying to record the fleeting feelings which can light up a moment in our lives. Cristina works within a classical figurative tradition with her love for details and her love for realism and, at the same, time she is in constant conversation with the more contemporary aspects of portraiture with her use of deep flat colour and oversized images. Cristina feels equally at home working on figurative or abstract pieces, even though she mostly loves drawing people, and she has worked on many commissions with complex briefs. In May 2018 she was voted full Member of the Birmingham Society of Artists and during the last year her work has been selected for exhibitions at the Mall Galleries in London as well as for Open Exhibitions in Coventry, Leamington and Bath. Cristina’s work is in private collections in Britain and in Europe.
