Alice White SGFA

Biography 

Alice White is an oil-painter, Lecturer, and Tutor at the University of the Arts London and University College London. Employing a bright, contemporary visual language of expressive figurative forms, Alice’s artwork explores how animals and nature impact positively on personal and social psychological spaces.

Alice’s studio work is informed through collaboration with scientists. Her recent project ‘The Art of Science‘ launched at the Scott Polar Research Institute (University of Cambridge Museums, 2021). She is a member of Art/Science/Education team SunSpaceArt (Cambridge University), and completed a year-long residency as Artist for Animals at ZSL London Zoo.

Alice is an Accredited Lecturer for The Art Society. Her essay ‘A Painter’s Perspective‘ is in the book ‘Alfred Cohen: An American Artist in Europe’, published by the Alfred Cohen Art Foundation and Ben Uri Gallery (2020).

She was awarded the Russell and Chapple Canvas Prize at the Annual Exhibition for the Royal Society of Marine Artists.
